Prof. Soyinka: "I Threw Away My Green Card"

Prof. Wole Soyinka said he has kept to his words of leaving the US and discarding his green card as Donald Trump has been confirmed as the President-elect of the United States of America.

The prof is not comfortable with Trump's ways and words.

Professor, did you say you were going to throw away your Green Card or cut your Green Card and leave USA if Trump wins? Are you now rewriting your statement? I believe throw away and cut are not the same thing even though I am not a Professor of English or Literary Arts. Initially, what you said was that you were going to cut your Green Card not to throw it away. Who witnessed when you threw it away as you just claimed? Throwing it away may mean hiding it so that people will not see you with it, when you cut it, anyone who doubts can see the pieces of the cut card.
This statement does not reflect a statement that should be made by Nobel Laureate holder. It goes a long way to show how uninformed you are when it comes to international politics. Americans do not know that you exist. So, cutting your Green Card is never their problem. Please, in order for you to maintain some level of respect from people across the world, you have to cut your Green Card as earlier said with some witnesses who are not your surrogates and then go for USA visa. However, it is too bad that someone who when he speaks, people should listen to him has made himself a laughing stock. Do you think America is like Nigeria where anything goes? I used to respect you before now, but you went to an extreme by making a statement of high magnitude such false prediction of USA election result.
Rochas Okorocha who also predicted that Hillary Clinton is to be the next president of America is a local politician. I do not think he made a vow in respect of his prediction. His politics does not go beyond the roof of Imo State.
TB Joshua who also predicted that a woman is to be the next president of America has given a reason for his false prophesy. And that reason is acceptable because prayers can change any situation.

Good of Prof Wole Soyinka if that promised made is been fulfilled. Apart from keeping promised, another lesson I learnt is people should mind their words not to allow them made a grave vow due to emotions or circumstances. We are still looking forward to Elder Bode George, who promised to go on exile if Buhari (PMB) won 2015 presidential election & PMB eventually won but Elder Bode George is yet to fulfilled that promised.
