Why PDP Senators Walked Out of Senate – Akpabio

Ex-Governor Godswill Akpabio who's now the senate minority leader said they (PDP senators) had to walk out of plenary yesterday because they can not allow political rascally, after a PDP senator from Ondo State decamped to the APC on the floor of the senate. His words:
"As lawmakers, Senators must not encourage political rascally. That is why PDP Senators staged a walk out to protest the purported defection of Senator Yele Omogunwa who was elected on the platform of PDP but claimed he wants to defect to APC to support the Governor-elect of his state.
The constitution is clear on this that if a Senator defects to another political party, he loses his seat."

Sources say the said senator is predicating his defection on the premise that there are two factions of the PDP at the moment, and both factions are laying claim to the leadership of the party.

In fact, the ground for their last show of strength was in the same Ondo State.
