UPDATE: EFCC Uncovers Another N2billion Linked To A Top Politician

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has traced N2billion to UBA account of Kantigi Liman, a 2015 governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger state.

As at the time of report, EFCC is set to declare the top politician wanted as he's on the run.

This latest discovery brings to N6 billion, the money traced to accounts held by the politician and companies linked to him.

2 weeks ago, EFCC traced N4 billion to two accounts in GTBank, both linked to the same Liman.

NAN reports that the politician who was a former commissioner of local government in Niger, had been elusive.

He is on the run and all efforts to track him down have been futile,” the agency quoted the source as saying.

“The next option left for the commission is to declare him wanted.”

Our attention has been drawn to the recent, sponsored, baseless but ceaseless social media concoction, wicked lies, blackmails, fabrications, and false accusation deliberately packaged to destroying the iron-cast incorruptible integrity of Liman Kantigi, a former Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate of PDP in 2015 general election in Niger State.

These allegations which had gone viral on the social media championed out of sheer mischief by enemies of progress and desperadoes, are not only false, dishonest but a pure character assassination and in our own estimation, for the purpose of history and records, it has become a necessity to educate unsuspecting public in the proper perspective.

For more than three (3) decades, prior his adventure into politics, Kantigi has been a successful business man in his own rights and through his local, national and international businesses exploits, he has been legitimately pursuing and earning his means of lively hood. His venturing into politics therefore, was motivated by humanitarian service and not for personal enrichment through public belonging.

He has been a member of Board of Directors in many registered Companies but not a Board of Director neither a shareholder in Katah & Investment Company Ltd and Sadiq Air Agency Ltd under contention.

Furthermore, our investigation revealed that the two companies, Katah & Investment Company Ltd and Sadiq Air Agency Ltd, are partnership business organizations with Board of Directors and multiple ownerships and were dully registered in full compliance with the Corporate Affairs Commission under Companies and Allied Matters Act as provided by the Provisions of Nigerian Constitution amended 1999. Therefore, linking the ownership to Liman Kantigi all alone speaks volume of the writers’ deceit, hypocrisy, ignorance and dishonesty. We also discovered that the two accounts in GTB which have the sumnof two billion naira in fixed deposit, as at 2015, were freezed by EFCC, thoroughly investigated and since nothing incriminating or indicting were discovered to be associated with the accounts or their activities, they were later defreezed.

On the new discovery of 2 billion naira by the EFCC, even from the news caption, the insincerity of those behind that unfounded and controversial report was clearly exposed. It was reported there that the former Governorship candidate of PDP in Niger State, Liman Kantigi was responsible and Liman Kantigi was not Governorship candidate but the Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate. Befor becoming the PDP's candidate he was a commisoner in charge of Local Goverment, the position he held only for six month. Within the period of this seven months, how possible is it to do away with this outrageous amount of money while there are due process governing all establishments in the state

Therefore, on the strength of the these clarifications, the general public is hereby advise to take their time and scrutinize the reliability, authenticity, and source(s) of every information trending media before accepting and disemminating same.

Liman Kantigi may not be the richest Nigerlite as at today, but he is certainly one of the topmost philanthropists of this generation in Niger State. Evidence are every where even for the blind to see.

Finally, the rate at which people spread false information of recent on the activities of highly respected anti graft agency of EFCC is unbecoming, scaring and disturbing, EFCC should therefore take note of paid media devils using the name of the agency for their selfish gains. The long standing reputation of war against corruption must not be dragged into the mud.
