Appeal Court Rules, Okays Probe Of Amaechi

A Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt has dismissed the appeal filed by Rotimi Amaechi, ex-governor of Rivers State, against the state Government, the chairman and members of the Panel of inquiry, and others to the effect that the panel did not give him fair hearing.

In a unanimous judgement, the 3 justices held that former Governor denied himself fair hearing by refusing to appear before the panel.

The court also held that former Governor Amaechi and minister of Transportation did not show concrete evidence that the panel was biased and set up to find him guilty.

Ex-governor Amaechi had approached the Appeal court to challenge the decision of the high court in the State that declared that the Panel of Inquiry set up by Rivers State Government in 2015 to investigate the sale of state assets was properly constituted and its findings in line with the law.

  1. so he can now face the panel of enquiry if his hands are clean..

  2. Betrayal what did you want again?

  3. What fair hearing does he want when he refuse to appear before the panel

  4. what about Peter Odili perpetual injunction? even a primary 1 pupil knows that Wike is on witch hunting mission but Amaechi is up to the task and one day, a winner will emerge amongst these two sworn enemies.
