Kidnappers Of Lawmaker's Mother, Sister Demand N30m

A gang of gunmen on Saturday abducted the mom and sister of the member representing Akwanga South State Constituency in Nasarawa House of Assembly, Kassim Mohammed-Kassim.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state command, Kennedy Idirisu, confirmed the abduction on Sunday in Lafia, the state captial.

According to Idirisu, the gunmen in their numbers, stormed the residence of the APC lawmaker at Moroa in Akwanga at about 8pm and shot sporadically before whisking the two women away.

He said the police was collaborating with the vigilante group in the area to locate the victims.

“As we speak, our men are already combing the areas in search of the victims and to apprehend the perpetrators,” Idirisu said.

Meanwhile, a family source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the abductors contacted the family and demanded a ransom of N30m.
