Why Buhari Did Not Name Osinbajo Acting President

The fact that President Buhari did not expressly name VP Yemi Osinbajo as acting president is not a bad thing, after all. Mr President is not sure when he's coming back so he wants everyone to know that they don't need to consult him at all, Osinbajo coordinates the government.

President Buhari has told Nigerians that he handed over to Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, because he was confident that he would run the government smoothly in his indefinite absence. In a tweet via his twitter handle, Buhari said: “As I noted earlier, I have absolute confidence that government will continue to run smoothly, while I’m away. God bless the Federal Republic.”
