Oh Dear! Nigerian Couple Divorce 10 Months After Lavish Wedding

It is drug criminals, kidnappers, fraudsters, Yahoo boys, etc. that made some people start thinking that money is the most important thing in marriage. Nothing wrong with having money legitimately, but money is the least important thing in a godly marriage of a couple that has respect for God with a sincere desire to build a good family, serve God, which is the purpose of being in this world, and eventually make heaven.

Some ladies on social media are saying they prefer to cry in a rich guy's house than marry a regular man for love. Sorry, most so called rich guys and their fast money will become HISTORY faster than you can imagine, that is how it has always been. The regular decent guys will grow to become real successful men with time like the likes of Elumelu, Fashola, Jim Ovia, Ubah, Ibrahim, Duke, just to mention a few, who got married as regular men but years down the line became real big men.

Our youths, both guys and ladies, should please stop this mad rush for "too much money" flaunting - guys want to do just anything to make fast money and ladies want to do just anything to marry a guy flaunting Millions. Don't destroy yourself because of INSTANT GRATIFICATION. Build a good family life, grow and enjoy responsibly for the good of your life and your eternity.

Late last year, the couple above trended on the internet with their lavish wedding party, someone even used money-spraying machine. But 10 months later the marriage has crashed...

The now ex-husband, Donkwe released a statement:

“I have decided to address these and I promise you that this is not a joke and not an attempt to be snarky. We realize that this probably comes as a shock to a lot of you and we apologize about that. We did not come to this decision lightly. We tried to “fix” our marriage in various ways, on our own and with the help of various professionals. Ultimately, what we are left with is a situation that makes neither of us happy.

We are amicable. We are working together to get through this. We are both hurting? but we do not hate each other. We have decided to part at this time in order to maintain congeniality so that we can continue to face our future. We genuinely wish the best for each other going forward. We also ask that if you are going to message us, please do so via private messages instead of a wall post. For those of you who have walked through this with us, you have our thanks and our love.

I know that some people might say it’s tacky to announce something so personal on social media but this announcement is going to inspire people to be real and honest to themselves, the plan was to build an empire together not to manage and I place no blame on any of us keep note to this, (judgmental people of Nigeria, we are not just compatible to each other and their is nothing to explain). Further statement might come up if pushed to the wall. having said these, I hereby announce to you that our marriage has failed. #DONKWE”
