Soldiers Kill 3 Fleeing Boko Haram Insurgents, Rescue Boy

A 5yrs old boy, who has yet to be identified, has been rescued from Boko Haram insurgents by troops of the Nigerian Army, Operation Lafiya Dole, during a gun battle in Bama, Borno State.

While the battle lasted, three of the terrorists were shot dead, during which the troops, who were from the 202 Battalion, 21 Brigade, pulled the boy from the insurgents’ grip.

It was gathered that the Boko Haram had enclaves in Abaram, Churuchuru and Aulajiri villages in the Bama area, which the troops attempted to clear as part of the ongoing Operation Deep Punch 2.

The boy is said to be with troops as efforts were on to locate his parents and reunite him with them.

 Also, troops of 151 Battalion, 21 Brigade, reportedly encountered some Boko Haram terrorists while on patrol along the Bama- Bocobs Road. The troops were said to have engaged the terrorists in a fire fight and killed an undisclosed number.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig Gen. Sani Usman, confirmed the incidents.
