How This Brilliant Lady Won 19 Prizes On Graduation Day

Brilliant and diligent Ololade Faidat Yusuf, a graduate of medicine from the University of Ilorin, won 19 prizes on her graduation day. How did she achieve such enviable feat?

She was awarded the prizes during the 32nd convocation of the school which held on Saturday.

The academic star who’s in her early 20s received cash prizes for being the ‘best graduating student’ in the department and faculty.

Ololade also received 10 of the 12 prizes and scholarships provided for the best graduating students.

Asked how she was able to achieve such a feat, she attributed her success to God and the perseverance to pull through medical school.

She explained that she read at least 4 hours a day and believed in herself regardless of her gender.

“As a woman you can become whatever you want to be once you are persistent, irrespective of number of men around you. I read for about four hours every day,” Faidat told Daily Trust.

Chinedu Mafiana, deputy executive secretary of the National University Commission (NUC), urged the institution to endeavour to retain her.

Ololade was the best student in the departments of behavioural sciences, pathology, community medicine, paediatrics and child health, medicine, ophthalmology, obstetrics, gynaecology and surgery.

We say a big congrats to her!
