Face Of Fake Lawyer Arrested By Police In Lagos (Details)

An alleged fake lawyer, Uche Nwajiakwu, has been arrested by the Ojo division of the Lagos State Police Command.

Nwajiakwu was picked up on Friday, May 25, on the premises of the Ojo Magistrates’ Court after he reportedly applied for a bail for his client.

It was learnt that some experienced lawyers observed that Nwajiakwu’s presentation was “too poor,” which made them reported him to the police that arrested him.

The Punch was told that the outcome of a police investigation into Nwajiakwu’s activities reportedly revealed that he did not study law in any Nigerian university or anywhere else in the world.

It was also learnt that Nwajiakwu, who was the second lawyer to be arrested as an impostor at the Ojo Magistrates’ Court, after Chris Elisha that was arrested on February 6, 2018, decided to impersonate and he was given money for faking as a lawyer for his friend who contracted him to file a notice to quit on his tenant.

A police source said, “Investigation into the case showed that the suspect did not study law anywhere.

“He fell in love with law practice when a friend of his contracted him to act as a lawyer in order to serve a notice to quit on his tenant. He was handsomely rewarded after the deed and since then, there had been no looking back for him.”

The source said Nwajiakwu had been in the game since 2015, adding that he would be arraigned for impersonation.

The state Police Public Relation Officer, SP Chike Oti, who confirmed the arrest of the fake lawyer, said he had been arraigned in the Ojo Magistrates’ Court.
