Pastor Goes Into Hiding After He Was Shot In Port Harcourt

Just few weeks after a popular Prophet was killed in the city of Port Harcourt, another man of God has escaped assassination by Providence.

A cleric and General Overseer of a Port Harcourt-based church, known as Lively Stone Chapel International, Pastor Olaiya Adeniyi, has explained how he escaped being assassinated by unknown gunmen, who trailed him to his house and inflicted a gunshot injury on him.

Pastor Adeniyi, who spoke with Southern City News from his hideout, said he was shot in the leg in January and that again on Wednesday, August 23, he received a text message in which he was threatened.

The text message read, ‘So, you are still alive; you think you can escape death. We are coming for you again’.

“It was when I got this text message that I left my house to come and stay where I am now. Where I am staying now is a rented place. The police said I should not allow people to come in here. I only leave this place for the hospital to do checkups,” he said.

Pastor Adeniyi, who said two of his assailants took away his phone and a bag he kept in the boot of his car, added that the police had arrested the person who bought the phone from the hoodlums.

Meanwhile, a police report on the matter signed by the Officer-in-Charge, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Rivers State Command, Shederack Edwards, indicated that investigation was ongoing to ensure that the culprits were arrested and their operational weapons recovered.
